“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”~Romans 8:37,39~
There is One who never forgets.
Could we be more loved? Did you know that perfect love is shown to us by our Father in heaven? His promises are always true and followed through on. He never forgets. He possesses no weakness. His heart is moved by us. It is not based on our worthiness or performance (“...But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 ESV).
There are hundreds of promises in scripture that can address all of our insecurities, trials, and situations. Something I have just begun is a notebook where I keep specific verses that the Lord has used as encouragement to my heart. I simply categorize them under subject headings such as “anxiety”, “anger”, “fear”, etc.. This will help me as I encounter difficulty in my day as a ready reference to what God says about these things. It will help steer my mind to look unto Jesus for my help, to see my emotions and life through his eyes!
These are promises we can stand on! My husband, my children, my friends, my family, my neighbors, my coworkers, and so on will never fail to fail me. Sometimes I will feel unloved because someone didn’t come through on their promise or failed me in a myriad of other ways as we so often do as sinful humans.
My earthly supports are fallible. They are as weak as I am. There is no one that can be right and faithful and always act in loving ways towards me – except for Him; the One who knit me together in my mother’s womb.
From the In Touch ministries website, I have linked to a list of the promises of God under topical references. Just click on the subject and it will give you some excellent encouragement from scripture. Sometimes we just need to remember what we have in Him! What security, power, love and tenderness we can live under!
